Pamela Thompson,
Certified Herbalist

Pam has worked with herbs on her Finnish homestead for 30 years. She is a graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Food and Nutrition and Communications. She is certified as an Herbalist by The American Herbal Institute, and apprenticed under Teresa Wolfe, Eco-Herbalist, BS, Microbiology; MS, Food Science and Nutrition.

Pam has taught in primary and secondary schools in Minnesota, in the Republic of Turkey and at the Minnesota Environmental Learning Center. She presents Continuing Education classes to the doctors, nurses and other staff at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, Student Health Center. She has also presented at Bois Forte Tribal Women's Health Conferences and at the White Earth Wild Food Summit. Pam teaches Community Education classes in Duluth, and gives programs at garden clubs and herb societies in the region as well as Master Gardener classes.

She has participated in group intensive classes under several world class medical herbalists including David Hoffmann, Steven Foster, Rosemary Gladstar, Kathi Keville, Dr. William Mitchell (who was a great force behind the founding of Bastyr University and who taught there until his very untimely death,) and Greg Tilford and Mary Wulff-Tilford, herbalists who work mainly with veterinarians and animals.

She has written and photographed for state and
national magazines and books, had a newspaper column for years on communities and the natural world and has transplanted seedlings for Anderson's Greenhouse on Minnesota's North Shore every spring for over a decade.
